Help Lighthouse and our Oakland County partners ensure no person goes hungry or without a roof over their head during this community crisis.

About this Campaign

The COVID-19 pandemic has completely changed the way we, as a county, are responding to the needs of our struggling neighbors. The Emergency Response Team, led by Lighthouse and others, stepped up immediately to provide emergency food and supplies to those in need. Lighthouse increased their food distribution efforts from serving approximately 225 individuals a week to 5,000. The organization also had to rethink their rotating emergency shelter model, moving it into a safe motel environment and quadrupling its capacity.

However, the immediate needs of our community are beginning to change and grow.

With so many people out of work for extended periods of time, many families’ savings are completely depleted and many will face eviction, as hundreds, if not thousands of households in Oakland County are behind on rent/mortgage and in danger of losing their homes.

*In the event that the funds raised aren’t spent down during this crisis, the balance will be used to assist the future needs of the most vulnerable in our community.
