About me.

I was born and raised in Detroit. I didn't work for 2 years because I was pregnant and then had an infant. My youngest son is now 8 months old and I am looking for good job that is full-time and with benefits. Right now I work part-time at Olga's Kitchen as a hostess. I am so happy to be working, but I would really like to have full-time work. I have 6 boys all together. My oldest son lives out of state and I hardly get to see him because with these tickets I cannot drive and it's hard to take the bus with my other children. It's also very difficult to rely on local buses for employment and job interviews.

My backstory.

A few years ago I hit rock bottom. I was pulled over and did not have a valid drivers license. This resulted in additional fees and tickets, which I couldn't pay. Eventually my family and I ended up in COTS shelter. I was pregnant at the time. This was the hardest part of my life, but we made it through those times. COTS helped my find housing and I know am in a stable environment with my kids.

My goals, moving forward.

My goals are to find a good job and go back to school. I would like to study accounting and eventually become an accountant. I want to be there for my kids as they grow up.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I am so happy to have a part-time job and I really love working. I want to be able to provide for my 6 boys though and part-time work isn't enough. I just don't want to end up where I was a year ago. Having my new home makes the happiest and it is motivating to do better!
