Why I'm using HandUp for court fines.

I am fundraising for recent court fines. I would like to pay off these fines so I can have a clean record to obtain a job and housing in the future.

About me.

I am originally from Alaska, but ended up in Corvallis, Oregon in 2013 with my family. We arrived in a major snow storm (living in our car with our 3 and 2 year old children). We "reached out" asked for help and eventually we were able to find work, housing and much more. However, to do unforeseen circumstances with the marriage, I lost almost everything (my job, friends, and worst of all, my children). Due to the trauma, I could not function anymore and had to temporarily place my children into foster care.

My backstory.

As stated earlier, I became homeless due to marriage problems and was not able to get out of it because I feared for my life. The challenges of my life are due to many reasons but the trauma of being a "survivor" is what I am dealing with now. It is hard for me to be alone, go to work, find resources etc. Some days just getting out of bed is a fight! I lost my driver's license due to not being able to pay for car insurance after a crash.

My goals, moving forward.

I am going to try to find work. I have a strong support system at Community Outreach. It is nice to have solidarity and people who understand. I am still trying to get a divorce and am working on getting my babies back!

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I am happiest when I am working and able to provide for my children. My wildest dream is to be able to give my children a better life than the one I had. Hopefully people know that I am strong and have a lot of perseverance! Other things about me, I like to spend my time camping, playing with my kids, and love barbecuing.
