Why I'm using HandUp for my basic needs.

I am a Vietnam Veteran who served honorably in the US Marine Core in 1974a & 1975. I have been married and have had children, owned businesses and have seen life on the high end and on the low end. Over 6 years ago, I was in a destructive relationship with someone and I thought I had car insurance, but this person figured out how to take me off of it (without me knowing). I was traveling in Lake Oswego, ORegon and hit black ice and hit the city engineers truck. Due to the fact that I didn't have insurance, I lost my car which led me to loose my job, my Dr. & my housing, Since then I have been struggling with homeless. I need this debt to be paid, so that I can get back on my feet again.

About me.

I am a from a strong Sicilian and Polish family and we grew up in Massachusetts and was an Air Force Brat and then we later moved to Pasadena California. We owned property in Burbank to Magnolia Blvd. to Alameda (by Arthur's restraint) When I was 17 years old (1974) my Father was chasing my step mom, so I decided to enlist in the US Marine core. Would have gone earlier if they would have let me. I loved the Marines but did no like civilian life. I found success after returning from war (Owned Business, painting, carpet and tile). I raised a family and later divorced (after 23 years). My life has been one roller coaster after another,

My backstory.

Over 6 years ago, I got in an accident and didn't know that I lost my insurance and then I lost my car, job, family, and then ever since then... I have been struggling through homelessness. The reason I am homeless is due to lack of transportation, bad luck and PTSD., plus I am 100% disability rating.

My goals, moving forward.

I am enrolling to LBCC to take creative writing classes and Law. I have a HUD VASH voucher and am hoping to get help with a case manager and am trying get stabilized with my Dr. I am wanting to help out other Veterans and am also wanting to get a paralegal degree.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

Being productive, having a home and bringing in an income makes me the happiest. Supporting myself and being able to give to others. My wildest dream is getting my own place again, "HOME""

Appreciate your support and thank you for reading this! Have a blessed and prosperous day!
