After an emergency situation, I got behind on my utilities and am doing my best to keep everything on. Right now, I'm having trouble getting community services that I'm eligible, and I'm working with SOS to figure this out. Right now, I'm in need of some help from anyone who can spare it.
My name is Christine and I’m from Ferndale, MI. I grew up in Ferndale and most of family lives in that area as well. I currently work at Burlington Coat Factory and have been employed there for over four months. I have two children that are both 3-years old and I recently gave birth to my baby girl in December!
When I lost my job last job and my home, things were pretty rough for me. My children and I have had to stay in hotels, with family and friends, and entered SOS's shelter. When I tried to move in with my mother, I was kicked out by her spouse and had no place to go. SOS helped my and my children find housing and I am so grateful!!!
My goals are to maintain my home for me and my children. I hated having to move them around constantly. I would also like to save money to buy furniture and have a safety net. Another goal I have is to go back to school and make my children proud – I want them to know that even in the midst of hardship, you can always find a rainbow at the end.
My children are what make me the happiest. They’re my world and everything I do is to provide them with a better childhood than I had, and to set them up for success in life. It makes me happy to see my children happy.
I'm raising money for application fees so I can find stable housing.
I'm raising money for utilities so I can keep my electricity on while waiting for my social security case to move forward.
I'm raising money for rent so I can get an apartment.
