Why I'm using HandUp for my basic needs.

I am using HandUp to raise money for car repairs so I can have reliable trasportation to get to work and to run errands.

About me.

I was raised in Detroit, but moved to Alabama to be closer to family. I recently returned to Michigan to raise my son with his father and I had been working in the school system. Unfortunately, I became homeless after losing my employment in the school system and I was unable to maintain payments for our car and apartment. I'm recently employed and need my vehicle to maintain this position and to get my son back and forth to school.

My goals, moving forward.

Immediately, I want to purchase a car so I can return to work and provide for my son and I. I am also hoping to be approved for an apartment soon, so we can live in a safe environment. In the fall, I will be attending ProsperUs Detroit, an entrepreneur training program that will give me the skills to start my own business. Ultimately, I would love to own and operate my own restaurant. My son and I have a great vision of the recipes and products we want to sell. I love to serve people and in my wildest dreams I would host a dinner party for 50 people and bring smiles to their faces.
