Why I'm using HandUp for my basic needs.

I am using HandUp for basic needs to that I can lead a healthy, self sufficient life.

About me.

Hello everyone, my name is Theresa. I am the youngest of four and come from a divided family. I grew up in Oregon and have lived here all my life. Following high school I decided to be a nanny and did that for over 25 years. I received a certificate for Office Assistant and did that for a couple of years but eventually went back to being a nanny. I eventually decided to go back to school at Everest College for medical billing in 2012. I enjoy many things such as decorating, art, making greeting cards, cooking, camping, and photography.

My backstory.

In February of 2016 I had to leave my home due to a family dispute. I ended up in another shelter but had some medical issues that made it clear to me that I needed to be somewhere stable. I came to Community Outreach, Inc. in Corvallis, Oregon to start to get my life back together. The school from which I earned my certificate is currently being sued for embellishing statistics; my education from there is unfortunately useless. I have not been able to land a job in medical billing since graduating.

My goals, moving forward.

I am hopeful on locating permanent housing in the near future. I have been at COI for a year. I have recently obtained a volunteer position at the Corvallis Library assisting in the "Juniors" section. I will get to do a lot of crafty stuff there! I am hoping to raise funds for registration/ tags for my car and also a battery so that I can drive it! Having reliable transportation will really be helpful as I move forward.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

It would be a dream of mine to be employed by Craft and Hobby Association, Sizzix Company, or Ranger Ink.
