Lathrup Village, MI
SOS’s mission is to end homelessness in Oakland County Michigan by mobilizing interfaith and community resources. Envisioning a community where everyone has a safe and secure place to call home, SOS moves people from homelessness to long-term stability by implementing housing-first programming.
Partnering with over 60 area congregations, SOS successfully operates a rotating emergency shelter providing over 200 individuals experiencing homelessness with 12,000 nights of shelter and 36,000 meals, annually. Over 70% of our shelter guests exit into housing. SOS re-houses over 150 individuals from within and outside of our shelter and provides stable housing to approximately 90 individuals struggling with chronic homelessness, annually.
