About this Campaign

"Imagine a tool that enables clients to access services from multiple agencies without running all over town telling their painful story over and over again. Imagine a tool that allows professional support team members from multiple agencies efficiently share information to more effectively serve clients, saving time from double and triple data entry, facilitating a network of seamless support to help more people move out of poverty faster. That's impact."

— Greg Kepferle, CEO Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County

Step Up Silicon Valley recognizes that assessing and measuring an organization’s impact upon systemic social issues, such as poverty, is extremely difficult. Because so many players—other non-for-profits, governments and business—are involved in changing efforts, it is difficult to isolate the influence of any single organization. Therefore, the Nonprofit Data Integration project will help us streamline the process of evaluating the social impact of each organization’s efforts and monitor success metrics through ongoing data sharing and inter-agency collaboration.

WHY A SHARED DATABASE

It's common for clients to seek various services from multiple organizations. The problem is that the organizations have no way of sharing information with each other making it difficult to see the larger picture. The pilot Nonprofit Data Integration project will provide the platform for our partner agencies to continue to use their existing case management systems, allowing data to be extracted and/or sent to the shared database — eliminating the duplication of data entry and the use of multiple case management systems. With this coordinated system, we would be able to more clearly see each client’s unique situation and needs then from there we can better assess and match them to relevant resources.

WHAT OUR FOUNDING PARTNERS ARE SAYING

"Our typical client is working with several organizations on their journey to a better life. Integrated, multi-organizational data is a strategic tool that will dramatically enhance client experiences and success rates." — Steven Hunt, Deputy Executive Director of The Stride Center

"Our work with 1,000 Out of Poverty and the partner agencies has allowed us to move toward a shared data system to track the progress of individual clients. In these challenging times, the process and tools we are developing allow us to measure our support and progress for women in our community who are experiencing domestic violence. We will have the data that shows these women are gaining the opportunities and skills to be self-sufficient, safe and move to the highest quality of life possible." — Esther Peralez-Dieckmann, Executive Director of Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence

“We’re excited about partnering to help move clients towards self-sufficiency.”

“We know that warm handoffs are SO MUCH more effective than sending someone off with a piece of paper.”

"The long term vision is to bring on as many agencies as possible to join the Data Integration project in order to effectively serve community in need.”
