Spring! The season of renewal! It is a time when we feel especially hopeful and eager to embrace the possibilities that we see on the horizon.

However, for the homeless, it's a different story. Despite the fact that Martha's Village and Kitchen has made a profound difference in the lives of countless families, the vision of homeless children living on the streets, in tents, in cars, in abandoned buildings and under bridges haunts us every day.

50% of the clients we serve are homeless children. We take care of them through our Children's Services Department - a service that allows parents the opportunity to work with peace of mind knowing that their children are safe and in a caring atmosphere until they can secure more permanent housing.

As one of the largest providers of homeless services in our county, Martha's Village and Kitchen offers life-changing programs designed to break the grip of poverty that holds the homeless captive. We have never wavered from our commitment to provide:

• A comprehensive selection of housing, education and support services

• An opportunity to transform their lives with dignity

• Pathways to resources and other agencies for additional help in breaking the cycle of poverty
