Detroit may be the Motor City but the lack of mass public transportation is a major obstacle to people experiencing homelessness and poverty. The inability to get around makes it nearly impossible for someone in poverty to secure housing, maintain employment or meet their basic daily needs such as getting groceries or going to the post office.
