This campaign is to subsidize our utility bills so that we can continue to fulfill our mission statement "To provide a safe and sober environment and team to transition our clients onto a path of recovery."

We serve 10,000 clients a year, in order to provide direct services to those clients we have employed 28 Certified Recovery Mentors. Our CRMs provide peer driven services therefore have previously walked the path of addiction and all are in long term recovery. Their experience is invaluable to our clients. Their salaries and expense are covered by our contracts. However, our operational costs must be fundraised. One of those expenses is our utility bills. So this campaign is focused on fundraising for that expense.

" Imagine that you are walking through the door for the first time and your cold, hungry, lonely, confused, and unsure what you even need. You walk through the door of Provoking Hope to warm smiles, hot coffee, and lunch cooking in the crock pot. This was my experience the first day I entered the building. My life had fallen apart I had lost everything I was using Meth intravaneously and drinking hard alcohol on a daily basis. I had a 3 year old and an 11 year old and had lost our house. I was dragging my baby boy around on the back of my bike all hours of the night. I was lost and wanted to die and then I remembered that a close friend worked at Provoking Hope. I decided to go there. I went there for a month still high and they never judged me. They welcomed me with open arms and told me they believed in me. They feed me and walked beside me while I tried to get into treatment. Then one morning it happened, I remember it very clear, I believed in myself enough to get clean. I showed up to their office at about 6:30 AM and they were closed. I called a CRM and told them I'm ready and they sent someone to open the doors and I got clean that day. I don't remember much of the first week but the parts I do remember are of me sitting on my hands in the lobby of Provoking Hope debating whether I should stay or go. The employees of Provoking Hope walked beside me my first year of recovery.

Today I have almost 2 years clean. I work a program of recovery and have my own place and my kids in my life. I am a good mother, sister, and friend today. I have been given my life back. I also have been given the opportunity to work for the place that helped me get my life back. I am an admin assistant for Provoking Hope. I have been here almost a year. None of this would have been possible without the amazing staff at Provoking Hope."
