Do you remember what you felt like on your first day of school? Were you nervous to meet your new teacher? Excited to tell your friends about your summer vacation? Ready to wear your brand new school clothes? Whatever you were feeling it was probably made easier knowing you had a bookbag full of fresh school supplies as you headed into the classroom.

At Community Connections we provide mental health services and housing supports to over 750 underserved, low-income children in Washington D.C. Many of these children have never had the joy of walking into their classroom prepared with all the supplies they would need to have a successful school year.

Some children are even sent home because they can't afford the correct school uniform.

Here's where you come in! Help us raise $5,000 to ensure that these children are able to go to their first day of school prepared. Your contribution to our campaign will allow us to supply the children we serve with brand new school supplies and uniforms. That's a lot of smiling faces walking into school on the first day!

UPDATE Our original goal was $5,000 but thanks to the generous community we have surpassed it and decided to challenge our selves to raise an additional $1,000 making our new goal of $6,000!
