At CHS, our goal is to end homelessness quickly and permanently for each household we service. We recently started the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP), which is a community effort to help Detroit’s homeless youth!

Unfortunately, many of our youth need much more than just housing. Transportation, food, household items, and clothing are just some of the additional items needed to help make their house a home. Therefore, we’re launching this online campaign called Soles for Souls this back-to-school season to help raise awareness and money for the homeless youth crisis in Detroit. We expect to serve another 200 young souls through the end of 2023, and our goal is to raise $200 for each of those households.

We want every youth to experience the feeling of waking up on their first day of school in their own home, in their own bed, with school supplies ready, and a new pair of shoes!
