I would use this fundraising to get me and my son a place to live and in general it would just help us because we've been struggling for so long. We just don't want to worry about being out on the street anymore.
I'm originally from Romeo, Michigan. I've been in and out between Pontiac and Detroit, so in Pontiac specifically I've lived about only a year or two. I currently do not have a job. I spend my free time looking for permanent housing and a job as well, and sometimes I like to go see some of my friends or family.
How I got here is because things weren't working out where I was previously living: too violent and too much arguing, so I decided that being homeless was better than living with abusive angry people. This is the longest I've been homeless in four months.
My goal is to be with my son and to have a safe, warm, healthy home for my child and I.
My son makes me happiest. My proudest moment is making sure my son is safe, and that my son likes to make sure that I'm safe, too. My wildest dream would be to get out of Michigan and try to find somewhere else to live--somewhere warmer.
I'm raising money for security deposit so I can get stable housing.
I'm raising money for a sewing machine so I can make quilts, pillows, curtains, etc..
I'm raising money for my phone bill so I can communicate with others about housing, and opportunities to gain income.
