My family and I recently lost our home when the tire shop next to our building caught fire last week. My husband, 6 year old son, 3 year old daughter, and I, evacuated our apartment in our pajamas on a Sunday morning after we saw a fire next door. We had no idea when we went outside that we would not be able to go back home and that our lives would change so drastically so fast. When we were finally able to come back in, we found everything had burnt. We were only able to save a few items of clothing. We lost our furniture, family memories, important documents, clothes, everything. Now, we are staying temporarily in a hotel where the Red Cross took us after the fire. My son and daughter keep asking when we can return home, and we do not have an answer for them. At this moment, we need help with housing and basic needs. We appreciate any contribution you can make to help us in our journey back to stability and being able to provide a safe environment again for our children.
