Why I'm using HandUp for a security deposit and rent.

Right now, I'm working to get my life back together after a pretty bad episode. I lost my housing, car, and job after going through a manic mental health episode and falling into suicidal attempts. Now, I've been able to connect to mental health supports and move forward with regaining and rebuilding my wellness. I'm focusing on moving forward and building back my stability. I'm staying in a shelter program now, working with their case managers, and using handup to end my housing crisis.

About me.

I'm 45, American born citizen, grew up in Michigan and I've been in the Troy and Madison Heights area for a while. I was working in Livonia as a quality inspector for car parts. I'm the youngest of three, my father was a military office, and my mother a homemaker who was originally from China.

My backstory.

I used to work for a quality inspector, inspecting parts for Chrysler, and that's another part of what I'm working to get back to.

My goals, moving forward.

My immediate goal is to find more stable housing, a room to rent somewhere, I don't need a full size apartment to myself right now I'm looking through my options. One of my main goals moving forward would be to get back into the quality inspection industry. Also, I'm really interested in getting an emotional support animal, particularly a cat, to help with increasing my wellness and well-being.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

Like I said before in my goals, I'm a really big animal lover, and I grew up with cats in the house. I love watching cat videos to cheer up, because everything is better after seeing cat videos. I really enjoy reading, particularly alternative history books, and playing sci-fi video games in my free time.
