I am fundraising for a security deposit to find secure housing.
I'm 24 years old, and I have spent my entire life in Pontiac, Michigan. I have three boys, ages 5, 3, and 1 years old. My past job positions were in fast food, caregiving, and manufacturing. Lately, for the past couple of months, I've been trying very hard to find stable income so that whenever I finally get approved for a place, I can maintain it so my boys can have a place to call home.
I've been homeless for about 7 months due to my not being able to be approved for housing due to the past eviction that I got back in 2023. I had gotten super sick and was put on bed rest. I lost my job and got evicted due to not being able to make my payments. I was living with my kids father's family until they put my kids and me out after their father was caught cheating while I was pregnant.
My goals moving forward are to get myself out of this situation for my kids comfort and stability. I want to get a job and keep it. Once I get approved for a place, I look forward to paying my rent ahead for months before I let myself be at risk of ever being behind again.
The main thing that keeps me happy is my prayer life, first and foremost. I feel like without God, I am nothing. Then, my boys, through it all, they've been so happy and grateful for what we do have. It motivates and pushes me to want to give them better because I know I can. Hearing "I love you, mommy" and "Thank you, mommy" pushes me.
I'm raising money for application fees so I can get housing.
