I'm using handup to apply for an apartment that is more affordable. I live on a fixed income after being hurt on the job and am looking to apply to a subsidized housing unit that will make sure that I can afford my rent as well as basic month to month essentials like food and toiletries. Thank you for looking at my profile.
I was born in Detroit and grew up on Detroit's west side. I had 3 brothers and 1 sister. Our grandmother helped our mother raise us. I worked a lot of good jobs including Chrysler and security until I was hurt on the job.
I had taken care of my mother for 15 years when she passed as she had several ailments. My mom and sister passed away 2 months apart. I took care of my sister for the last year of her life. We all lived in Farmington Hills. After they passed, I started a new job and moved to another apartment to downsize. 2 years later, the retinas in both of my eyes detached. I had surgery on both eyes and as a result I am legally blind in one eye, while the other eye has a cataract forming. I have to wear glasses. I lost my apartment because I was terminated from my job, and my FMLA ran out. I am on permanent disability. I lived in my car for nearly 2 years before SOS accepted me.
I want to get my credit back on track so I can improve my general finances and build my stability.
I love my music. Music helps me to temporarily forget any problems or stressors that are happening in life.
