I'm from the Pontiac area and my profession is in the medical field. I'm a PCT (Patient Care Tech), employed at a local hospital. My son is my whole world and what we most love to do together is travel and spend time together.
Several months ago, I was injured in a car accident. As a result, my employer put me on short term disability. I was scheduled for surgery to repair my shoulder, but due to Covid-19, that procedure has been postponed and I'm therefore unable to work. I'm thankful to be receiving a part of my pay, but it's not near enough to cover my rent, utilities, car payment, food, and other bills. I can't make ends meet right now without some help, and I think my landlord will put us out as soon as he can. I'm doing everything I can to keep it together, but it's not enough. I'm fundraising to prevent my son and I from losing our home.
Besides looking forward to returning to my full time job as a PCT at a local hospital, I am also working towards my bachelor's degree. I have been slowly making progress on this while working full time and being a single Mom. I have dreams of having my own business and giving my son the best life I can.
I enjoy helping others and being able to provide for my son. This pandemic has changed life, but I will get through it because my son is what matters most. I dream of traveling/taking him places to see this world and just being back to our routine.
