About me.
My name is Maurice and I have just been housed through the support of South Oakland Shelter. Four years ago, I lost my job and subsequently my home. Before becoming homeless, I received family support, but when they passed away, I found myself on the streets. Unfortunately, I contracted frostbite during these harsh winters and I have had some of my toes amputated. I still struggle with the pain from nerve damage. I am fortunate to have found support through South Oakland Shelter and Hand Up, and I am ready to get my life back on track!
