Why I'm using HandUp for rent.
I am 56-years-old, have 8 grown children, and 19 grandchildren. It is time for me and my husband to rest and let God help us get what we need. I have never had a house and I want somewhere to live peacefully.
About me.
I am from Flint, Michigan but I was born in Chicago, Illinois and lived there for 17 years. I spend my time cooking, playing with my grandkids, and praying.
My backstory.
I've never lived in a house. I always used to live with my mother and grandmother but my grandmother passed away and my mother lives in Ohio. We do not get along very well. I tried living with other family members and my kids but I felt I was being misunderstood. My uncle put me out. This was when I knew it was time to try and get a place of my own.
My goals, moving forward.
I have never stayed in a shelter this long so I am working hard at filling out applications all over Pontiac. I am currently just waiting on a call from those. I will also do whatever I have to do to become closer to Jesus on my way.
Other things I'd like to share about myself.
My happiest moments are being with my children and grandchildren, helping people, and going to church.
