I am using HandUp for a dresser because I don't have a place to put my clothes. They are currently piled on a wire rack in my bedroom and constantly are falling off and on to the floor, leaving quite a mess to keep up with.
In 2012 I was living in Oxford, MI. I was self employed as a transcriber for the Federal News service. My car died at that time so I depended on my bicycle for daily transportation. I was struck by a vehicle one day, causing a concussion, neck injuries, and a knee injury. I have been unable to work since then. This contributed to my homelessness, but now I have secured housing through South Oakland Shelter and I am able to live independently.
I'm currently participating in physical therapy in hopes of being able to return to work. I am so happy in my new home and I am hoping to save enough money to purchase furniture.
I'm raising money for basic needs.

Help Lighthouse and our Oakland County partners ensure no person goes hungry or without a roof over their head during this community crisis.
I'm raising money for application fees so I can obtain housing.
