About me.

Hi. my name is Stacy. I live in Hazel Park, Michigan. I spend a lot of my time watching sports, including basketball and football. I enjoy cooking soul food and barbecuing. I really enjoy playing dominoes, video games, and cards. I used to enjoy bowling, but I have been unable to do it because of back issues.

My backstory.

I grew up in Ferndale, Michigan and I played basketball and football in high school and college. I was in the Hall of Fame at Ferndale High School for basketball. I attended Oakland University on a scholarship. All those years of playing sports created back problems for me as an adult. In 2009, I was working as a Para Professional in alternative education. Sadly, I was laid off. During my last year of work, my back continued to be an obstacle for me to work and to live my daily life. While I was laid off I struggled with bills and did everything I could to make money to survive. I was unable to afford paying my bills and became homeless. I was homeless for two and half years. I had back surgery in November and am still struggling to make it through the day. Recently, I found SOS and now I am moving into a new apartment.

My goals, moving forward.

I am currently still healing from back surgery. Right now I am just so glad to be alive and working towards a better healthy lifestyle. I have recently completed my Commercial Driving License and am hoping to find a job when I have healed from my surgery.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

My proudest moments are when my seventeen-year-old son began playing basketball. I really enjoy watching him play!
