Why I'm using HandUp for rental help.

I'm raising funds on handup because of a death in the family and a long journey. This started when my Uncle Nick ran into health and financial problems. I saw that there was no one to help him get through this and I couldn't watch while the state took over and put him god knows where after he lost his house to foreclosure. I decided to move in with Nick to an apartment, and I quit my job to become his full time caretaker and advocate. I fought with the system to make sure Nick had healthcare and was eligible for benefits after his military service. Just as we were settling into our new routine and becoming more stable, Nick's health took a turn for the worse and he passed away.

After his passing, I went through and still am experiencing a lot of grief. I haven't had time to fully process everything because I know rent is coming due and the social security payments and caretaking income that Nick and I received ended. I know I have to keep moving forward and I'm applying for jobs like crazy, but I may need help for September. Thanks for considering helping me in this transition.
