I'm trying to find a place to call home for my family again.
I was born in Detroit, MI but I moved to Pontiac in 2012. I have 5 children ages 2, 4, 6, 12, and 16. I used to work as a direct care worker for the mentally and physically disabled as a supervisor. I'd been in that field since 1999. I have a passion for taking care of those who need assistance taking care of themselves. I absolutely love spending time with my children. They are the reason I continue to put my best foot forward. Although at times I get discouraged because it's not easy being a single parent of 5. Never a dull moment! My 2 year old had bi-lateral hip displasia and was placed in a harness for 9 months to correct it. The harness corrected the hip displasia but caused a deformity in her hips. Now she walks like a duck because her bones are too small. Eventually she will have corrective surgery. She is also deaf in her right ear. My 4 year old has seizures. The doctors have not figured out why at this time. My 12 year old is an insulin dependent diabetic. Even with their disabilities they are all great children and I wouldn't trade them. I have hidradenitis supporativa, diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, asthma, and a blood clot in my lungs. So I live a life of pain. I have also suffered from a work related injury which caused trauma to my mid-lower back. That was the start of my downfall.
I never recovered from the work related injury causing me to lose my job. As a result, I ended up losing my house. My kids and I have been moving from place to place ever since. Now we are in a shelter trying to gain a stable place to stay. We are starting with nothing so we would appreciate all donations. Thank you so much in advance.
