Why I'm using HandUp for car repairs.

About a month ago I had had a car accident with a deer. It severely damaged my car. The total repairs are roughly $800. The repairs are complete, however, I can't access my car until the payment is made. Thank you for your support so far!

About me.

I moved to Detroit when I was 7 years old, with my mom and three brothers. I have had many odd jobs over the years, but have been disabled for the past 30 years. I enjoy playing the piano to stay calm and focus my thoughts.

My backstory.

I have been struggling my whole adult life with my mental and physical health, as well as drug abuse to self-medicate. I have been homeless on and off for the past 8 years. I am getting older, and I need to redirect myself, and find a permanent/safe housing situation.

My goals, moving forward.

I want to be housed and stable in the next two months, while continuing to receive services from SOS and Easter seals. I want to find a church that will help me stabilize my mental health.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I love animals, music and working with children. I am getting to a point in my life that self-care is a necessity not an option.
