I am fundraising for a security deposit so that I can find stable housing.
I am from Rockford, Illinois, and I moved to Michigan after serving 12 years in the U.S. Navy. I was working at Dana Incorporated until it closed down for good in October 2025. I have a 10 year old son, who I was granted full custody of after not being able to see him for 18 months. Now, I spend all my extra time having fun with my son.
I had two cases that required me to get lawyers and a private investigator to prove my innocence and get my son back. In order to pay for all of this, I had to move out of my house and start living out of my car or in hotels when I had extra money.
I would like to get a nice home for my son and me, and to go back to working full time. I would like to be able to provide for us, and also try to take him on a vacation sometime.
My proudest moment is when the judge granted me custody of my son. Even though it cost me everything, in the end, it was all worth it. Being able to provide for my son and make sure that he is okay is what makes me the happiest.
I'm raising money for a security deposit so I can find permanent housing.
