San Francisco, CA
The Faithful Fools was created in 1998 to establish a community of people who address the policies, attitudes and lack of knowledge that perpetuate homelessness and poverty locally in San Francisco and also nationally and globally. We establish relationships with people who are homeless or living in poverty, as well as those with homes and economic wealth – creating a pathway across a boundary that is harshly defined and protected in our society. Walking and working together people of privilege and people who are impoverished help one another bridge gaps and shift perceptions that inhibit personal and social change. We work to build community by breaking through boundaries that separate us, such as economic power, religious beliefs, class, race, gender, ethnicity, mental illness, etc.
