City Hope Kitchen Campaign raised $20,050 on HandUp!
At City Hope, we serve meals to more than 100 of our neighbors in the Tenderloin each week. Not only do we serve meals but we build community by coupling our meal service with fun game or movie nights. The opportunities to provide this nourishment, however, have been limited in many ways due to our current food preparation facilities.
To sustain our current work and grow this ministry, we have substantial work we need to do within our facility. We estimate the work to require approximately $20,000, which will include electrical improvements to increase the capacity of the space as well as the purchase and installation of convection ovens, stovetops and various cooking equipment.
We are also launching a new partnership with Sun Basket! They will be helping us design and lead a new weekly cooking class for Tenderloin residents here at the Community Center beginning in April. We need your support to make this happen! Donate today to help us make this opportunity and partnership a reality. We know that each gift will continue to allow us to offer the nourishment of food and fellowship to our neighbors in need.
Funding of this campaign means so much more than just ovens and stoves. It means a better opportunity to demonstrate tangible community to our friends on the street.
