Why I'm using HandUp for secuirty deposit.

I am trying to get help with funding for a security deposit. I am transitioning from foster care and now living homeless with my new born son.

About me.

I am from the Detroit MI, and grow up in the foster care from age 2 to 18. After living the foster home, I tried to build a life for me and my children. I have lived homeless sleeping in abandon homes, and in and out of shelters. I just want to get a place a get myself together to be a better mother for my son.

My backstory.

Growing up in foster care was hard, and when I transitioned out into society, I met my two oldest children father. He was abusive to me, and then he ended up getting murdered and it left me confused and lost. He was the financial supporter for our family, and I was left to try and do it on my own. I worked one temporary job, which did not work out due to my mental health issues. I ended up homeless and living in a abandon home with my children. This caused me to loss my children, which caused so much depression and stress in my life. I have now had another child, and my son father went to jail before I had my son. I am now in the same situation, but reached out to SOS for help and to be able to keep my son. I working with agencies to get my disability and looking for subsidize housing. I just want to get housed and give my son a better life then I experienced.

My goals, moving forward.

My goal it to get housed, and take classes to better help me coop with life. I also want to finally have a home of my own, and start to live life. I also want to take job training classes so I can work.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

My proudest moment is stepping up trying to be a better parent. I get my joy from my children and my boyfriend. They have been the only thing that has loved me back.
