Why I'm using HandUp for rent.

I am using HandUp to raise money for my rent to fill the gaps. I am starting a gardening program that will be a game changer in helping me with employment. Your help will push me toward these goals.I am currently housed and am looking for support with my rent so I can focus on finding employment.

About me.

I'm from Tucson, Arizona. I left with my family and moved to Texas, then Los Angeles, and then moved up to San Francisco. I've been in the area for about twenty years now. I have been back and forth from San Francisco to LA but now I live here. I work at a part-time job serving food and doing setup/breakdown for a local company. I go to church on Sundays, go to parts on Saturdays, and I like to go to different events and shows I see in the papers like the flea market. I have experience doing work in different types of garden work.

My backstory.

I am in my current situation in transitional housing mostly due to losing a previous job. Without a job, I was unable to keep my apartment due to financial issues because I could not afford rent. I am currently looking to get a place, even something like a small studio or a one-bedroom. That would be a start.

My goals, moving forward.

I'm looking for a new part-time employment opportunity. My current job does not have enough hours to sustain me. I took a class on recycling and got a certificate in the field. I want to put that knowledge towards landscaping and gardening work as a form of employment. I have looked into volunteering in this field as well. My goal is to be prosperous one day.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I want to get myself back to working and being a productive member of society.
