I am raising money and using Hand Up because I need help. I am working on obtaining income but the process is taking a long time. I really need help with paying my phone bill, basic hygiene necessities, medications, food, and clothing.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my account. Have a fantastic day!
I am from Detroit and I have lived here for 51 years. I am a proud Detroiter. I have three children and two grandsons that I love very much, and spend most of my time with. I love music and reading!
I became homeless because I had lost my income at the time. I suffer from multiple illnesses that challenged my way of living previously and brought on many hardships. I suffer from chronic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis. I am no longer homeless because I worked hard at advocating for myself in order to get help. I now have a new apartment that I love and I am very grateful for. I just now am experiencing the challenges of still working on getting income but not having the funds to pay for basic needs such as old bills, toiletries, food, and now new bills. I need this help now so I can become more independent and successful as soon as possible.
I have many goals. I hope to continue to take care of my illness and stay housed. I want to work with the others that have helped me to get to this point so that I can stay successful and work on new successes. My goal is to be healthy and make sure that I am alive to see my grandsons graduate one day. I am looking forward to the future and trying to stay positive, despite when life may give you negatives.
I was so proud to see my son graduate from high school. I am happiest when I can see my kids! I am also happiest when I can learn new ways to manage my pain in order to feel healthy.
I'm raising money for clothing and furniture so I can maintain my housing**.
I'm raising money for basic needs so I can get by due to recently becoming disabled.
