I am currently in the shelter with my four children. I am on a fixed income to provide for my family.
I am from Pontiac, born and raised. I attended Detroit Job Corps when I was 16 years old finished the program and obtained my GED and two trades. Shortly after I became pregnant. I was working in providing for my baby at a nursing home for seven years. I worked there until I hurt my back and become disabled. I then had 3 more kids and me and my brother decided to by a home but he sadly passed away. Which left me to pay bills alone and I started falling behind. I became pregnant with my last child and mentally and physically lost everting. I am currently trying to rebuild myself and provide a better life for my children.
After hurting my back at a nursing home I become disabled. My and my brother stayed together until he passed away. He was the only support me and my children had. I started falling behind on bills and then my car broke down. I had to choose between getting my car fixed and paying bills that I was already behind on.
My goal is to return to school and become a therapist. I would also like to write a book.
The only thing that keeps me going is my children. They make me so happy. I can't wait to make them proud of me and help them gain stability. My wildest dream is to see my children grow old and enjoy life. I hope they don't make the same mistake I made in life.
I'm raising money for application fees so I can to apply for housing.
