Why I'm using HandUp for an eviction.

I am raising money on handup to prevent a immediate eviction that is set to go through within the next two weeks. I've been in my home for a few months, but due to recent health crises in connection to problems in the home I'm living in I was hospitalized and lost my job. With this, I fell behind on my rent and even though I've been doing everything I can my Landlord said he can't work with me anymore and took me to court. I'm trying to do everything I can to make sure I stay healthy for my children and really need some help to stay in our home. I tried mediation with the landlord and he wasn't having it, so now I'm set to go before a judge on November 6th.

About me.

My name is Paige. I moved to the Pontiac area in January leaving a domestic violence situation. I spent 3 months at the Haven DV shelter with my 3 year old daughter and 11 year old son.

Right now, we've just been in a major transition. I was with a large corporation until I was laid off with my entire office last fall. I've been rebuilding our whole lives since I left my home after the abuse became too much, especially with my children. I was able to get some furniture items from the furniture bank and South Oakland Shelter was able to help us with move in costs to get us into our home.
