I'm raising money for shoes and a monthly bus pass so I can obtain stable employement.

Why I'm using HandUp for shoes and a monthly bus pass.

I am using HandUp because it is a great service and I am looking forward to obtaining stable employment. With HandUp, I hope to obtain a pair of walking shoes and a bus pass so that I may transverse my city more easily. My goal is to obtain stable employment in the construction industry, so a sturdy pair of shoes and reliable transportation will do me a world of good!

About me.

I'm currently living in the city that I was raised in, HighPark, Michigan. I have watched my city evolve over the years, and during this time, it has inspired me to take a job with one of the most visible job sectors available: the construction industry. By joining the construction industry, I am sure that I will be able to provide and support myself, independently.

My backstory.

Previous to being homeless for the last three to fours years, I was living with my parents. However, being unable to pay for rent I was not allowed to stay under their care. Therefore, with stable housing and employment, which I am seeking help for by using HandUp, I will be able to pay for myself and others through the money that I earn.

I am also looking for a stable environment as well. I feel as though the environment that I am currently residing in has proven itself to be too unpredictable. A stable place to place my head would do.

My goals, moving forward.

As I stated previously, I believe that a stable environment would be best for me at this point. I also have a son that I provide. He currently stays with his mother in Inkster. The progress that I make from obtaining stable housing and employment will allow me to create more community ties and provide a better outcome for myself and others.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I am happy when I am able to spend time with my kids, working, or being with my friends and family. If I am able to create more community ties I will be able to access more areas of my community and be a service to those of need. Being in a situation that has been so unpredictable, I can empathize with others who have also traversed a similar walk in my life. My goal is to help those who will come after me.
