I'm raising money for furniture so I can get the essentials and really have a home-base to rest after working on my goals.

Why I'm using HandUp for furniture.

I am using HandUp to raise funds for furniture after moving into my new place. I have a lot of goals that I'm actively working on, and it's really essential after a long day to be able to have a bed and a few essentials to be comfortable in my home.

About me.

I'm a formerly homeless Grandma who went to a shelter program before I was able to get myself into housing and my own apartment. Now I'm moving forward and trying to take care of the essentials while living on a fixed income and taking care of my business.

My backstory.

I was born in Detroit, MI. After I retired in 2010 I moved to South Carolina to help my daughter and grandchildren who were in a bit of trouble. After I the situation changed in South Carolina, I made my goal to get back to Michigan, so I reached out to an old coworker who owned rental properties and moved in. We had a good agreement, but after awhile of living there her husband raised the rent. I could no longer afford to live there and was forced to move out.

My goals, moving forward.

Now that I'm in stable housing I'm looking into being a foster grandparent and other opportunities to supplement my fixed income. I also have plans to return to school and study Human resources.

I love to read! I also love to help other and I am always happy when my bills are paid.
