I was born and raised in Stanford, Connecticut. I have lived in the Bay Area since 1977.
All of my money (mostly retirement funds) was stolen. I was evicted from my apartment and had no place to go, so I began living in a homeless shelter.
I am trying to find freelance writing/editing work (I am an experienced professional writer/editor) with more than 20 years experience, including 12 years at Macworld Magazine).
I am also trying to find permanent housing. I need help obtaining move-in costs including first-month's rent, last-month's rent, and a security deposit.
I have an issue with a tooth where my gums have receded. If this is not addressed, I may need to have this tooth extracted and I would lose my tooth. I am seeking preventative care via periodontal surgery to take care of this issue. This issue has come to my attention after I had my teeth evaluated at the last Project Homeless Connect, where a dentist highly recommended that I see a periodontist and undergo surgery to save this tooth.
Finally, I need to see an ophthalmologist to have my vision checked for glaucoma specifically since this is something that runs in my family. If not treated, glaucoma could cause me to lose my eye sight and I am seeking preventative care for this measure.
I do not drink, smoke, or do drugs - creativity is my drug! I am happiest when I am with my daughter, dogs. I love doing, and engaging in creative activity.
