I have lived in Detroit for 62 years. I graduated from Central High School and I worked at Detroit Diesel for 9 years and then moved on to the food industry. I have been at Mariners Inn for over two years. I've been getting my life back to being myself- a truly caring person. In my free time, I like to watch movies, go for walks, watch TV and go to sports games.
I found myself in my current situation after my mother and father passed away a week apart. That's when I started my downhill fall in 2008. I lost my mother and father's house in 2015 and became homeless. I didn't have anywhere to go.
My goal is to have a house I call my home. I want to invite my kids and my grandkids over.
My happiest memories are from visiting Washington D.C., Cedar Point, the Detroit Repertory Theatre, Gull Lake, the Empire State Building in New York, and from going to see the Detroit Lions and Pistons play.
I'm raising money for a spontaneous emergency utility bill so I can keep my electricity on as I am a student.
I'm raising money for an inflatable mattress so I can sleep comfortably while I raise funds for a bed.
I'm raising money for clothing so I can stay warm this winter.
