Why I'm using HandUp for rental assistance.
I am using HandUp to help our family keep up on bills so we can maintain our housing as we continue our journey towards self-sufficiency.
My backstory.
Our family had been living in our home in Mt. Clemens for over 5 years when my husband fell ill and we lost out income. We were not able to maintain income and lost our home. We then lived in a tent for over 6 months waiting for better solutions. We were able to transition into housing with the support of South Oakland Shelter. Now that we've found stable housing we are working towards self-sufficiency.
My goals, moving forward.
Our main goal is to maintain housing and keep improving our sustainability as a family.
