About me.

I am from Detroit, born and raised. I currently work at Onstar, which I like very much. Every job I've had has been a form of helping others, from healthy to safety. This is my passion. And my goal is to earn a bachelors degree in psychology and ultimately become a child psychologist. This will fulfill my desire to work in a meaningful career.

My backstory.

I am from Detroit, but several years ago I moved down south for better job opportunities. While I was living in the south I became involved in a mentally abusive relationship that I knew I need to get out of for my children. I put out a call for help and my younger Brother in Flint responded and took me and my children in. My family and I lived in Flint for a few years, but due to the water problem and health concerns for my children I had to relocate to Detroit. We had nothing, so my youngest daughter and I came to COTS for shelter in April 2016. My older two children are 18 and 22 so they were able to stay with relatives. My youngest daughter is 11. We stayed at COTS for many months, but now we are in our own apartment.

My goals, moving forward.

I want to further my education so that I can help to educate others and better their lives. I want to do this by getting my bachelors degree to psychology and eventually becoming a child psychologist.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

Seeing other people happy makes me the happiest. Seeing my children succeed in life is my greatest joy. My wildest dream is to travel the world.
