Why I'm using HandUp for musical equipment.

I am Lisa Willis, a Black trans musician in San Francisco. Two years ago, I was attacked during a hate crime and suffered a permanent spinal cord injury. I deal with constant nerve pain as I write and perform my music.

I need $200 to get my guitar out of the pawn shop and to buy a portable generator so I can play for tips in Berkeley. The following links are to my Spotify, TikTok, and YouTube pages.

About me.

I grew up in Pasadena, I was an astro-physics major at Cal State LA, I moved to Reno in 2007 when I started working at a casino, and I moved to San Francisco 3 years ago after my mom died. I play piano and guitar and I've been playing in chess tournaments for over 30 years. My passion is writing and playing music.

My backstory.

A couple years ago I was on a bus and a woman sprayed bug spray in my face while another woman hit me over the head, and I suffered a permanent spinal cord injury. Now I live with constant nerve pain which makes it difficult to find work.

My goals, moving forward.

My goal is to keep writing and performing music and to be a successful musician.
