Hello HandUp Community,
I am fundraising to enroll in driving school, in order to pass the DMV behind-the-wheel exam, and earn my driver's license. The minimum cost to enroll in this driving school is $600.
Thank you so much for your support, it means the world to me! I deeply appreciate every and any donation amount, and am so grateful for your support in my goals.
** NOTE TO DONORS: We value your donations, and respect your intention to support people in need with their specific fundraising goals. On occasion, the immediate needs or an emergency may arise, and a Participant might require support in another way for safety, health, housing, or employment. As such, your donation may be used for an immediate basic need not mentioned in the above goal, such as groceries, health costs, or housing support. Any changes will always be approved in advance by PHC Staff. We will provide up to date information on how these funds are being used through an update on HandUp. By making a donation to this campaign, you are confirming your approval of this potential change. If you have any questions, or do not wish that your donation be used for any alternative goals, please contact PHC staff directly.
We greatly appreciate your support to our Participants!
I have lived in San Francisco for 8 years. I moved here from Beijing, China. I've had a very difficult time here because not having the right documents has caused me a lot of pain. I've been homeless for 8 years. This has been very hard for me. I've had mental disabilities and difficulties and was in a serious depression for a long time. My legal case has not moved forward and has been delayed for a very long time. Because of this I was cut off from all help, all resources, and I have been abused by organizations.
All of this has not stopped me though! I just got my social security card and am looking for work! I think I'll be able to get a job and an apartment soon, I just need help getting some necessities until I get there! I've been working on my life to move forward for a long time and just need a hand for everything to come together soon
When I first moved to San Francisco, I was living in a hotel. Then I moved to a hostel. I also rented a room for a few months but it was not sustainable. I ended up staying in the shelter. I spent a lot of time couch surfing. I was working in a restaurant and as a babysitter. I'm now working as much as I can but still looking for a permanent job so I can get my own apartment!
My goal is to have a place to cook. If I had a kitchen, I could cook and sell the food as delivery. I also am skilled at video footage and photography. I would like to use these skills to make enough money to help meet my basic needs.
My wildest is dream is to be a legal citizen so I can have more freedom. My other dreams are to have a family and a job. I would like to create an organization to help under-served communities such as homeless people, artists, underemployed, and small and medium business owners.
I'm raising money for basic needs.
