Why I'm using HandUp for crown.

I have a disabling neurovascular and endocrine medical condition which makes my monthly expenses very expensive. I learned from my dentist recently that I need a crown to help save my tooth and be able to chew and eat food properly. But, this additional expense adds too much for me to be able to afford on my own. If I paid for this crown it would remove my ability to pay toward my other medical expenses and supplements, which could affect my overall health. Any support you can give me would be deeply appreciated.

** NOTE TO DONORS: We value your donations, and respect your intention to support people in need with their specific fundraising goals. On occasion, the immediate needs or an emergency may arise, and a Participant might require support in another way for safety, health, housing, or employment. As such, your donation may be used for an immediate basic need not mentioned in the above goal, such as groceries, health costs, or housing support. Any changes will always be approved in advance by PHC Staff. We will provide up to date information on how these funds are being used through an update on HandUp. By making a donation to this campaign, you are confirming your approval of this potential change. If you have any questions, or do not wish that your donation be used for any alternative goals, please contact PHC staff directly.

We greatly appreciate your support to our Participants!

About me.

I am originally from Europe and have lived in Bay Area since I was 16. Prior to becoming injured and disabled I worked for a healthcare facility as a Hospice Coordinator. In my free time I like to walk, attend physical therapy and like to read a lot. When I am able I like to spend time outside in nature and at the beach.

My backstory.

Prior to becoming injured I was working full-time and living independently. My injuries have left me permanently disabled. Not being able to work and living on a limited income has made it difficult to cover the costs of treating my injuries and health conditions.

My goals, moving forward.

I am focusing on being more active in my community through volunteer work. My long-term goal is to return to work once I am well enough, even if it is just part-time. It is important to have goals, structure and a sense of purpose. I am hoping by taking the steps to be more active that I will be able to make this goal a reality.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

When the symptoms of my illnesses are not debilitating I am happiest when I can spend time outside in nature walking and meditating. I also enjoy attending church regularly. I enjoy activities that bring me a sense of peace. I am proud that I am able to take initiative on improving my health so I can make the most out of life and resume activities I enjoy doing. My wildest dream is to be healthy enough to return to work and give back to my community.
