I have lived in Detroit all my life. I worked at the the State Fair, the People Mover and MiStar in Livonia. I was active until I found out I had diabetes and then I became homeless. Here at Mariners Inn, they're helping me get my life back on track.
I was working at MiStar three years ago and then I lost that job, my house, and five toes due to my diabetes. Since then, learning to walk has been a challenge. I am taking water aerobic therapy and yoga, and I was riding my bike until it was stolen.
I would like to move into an apartment, improve my health, and maybe get my own car.
My proudest moments are getting back on my feet and walking in church in March 2016 after I was told I wouldn't be walking until June 2016. My wildest dream is to dance and I really like riding my bike.
I'm raising money for a spontaneous emergency utility bill so I can keep my electricity on as I am a student.
I'm raising money for minutes for my phone so I can keep up with my appointments.
I'm raising money for shoes and bus pass so I can obtain housing.
