I just got evicted. I was working as a gig worker for Moscone Center and the pandemic hit. EDD cut me off and I'm fighting for that right now. I haven't been paid since October 2020. So I'm just waiting for the money and trying to get my life back.
I'm from Marysville, CA and I've been in San Francisco since 1999.
I used to work with the City of Inglewood Planning Department and was working as a trade show associate with Moscone. The pandemic completely shut down my industry and ruined my life. I'm ready to get back to work and want to be productive.
The next step is my job. I'm already ready to get back to work but the pandemic is stopping my old job from starting back up again. Once I get my EDD I can get a job but you can't get a job on the street. It's impossible.
I just need a leg up for the short term until I can get back to work.
I'm raising money for my mother's remains so I can release them to the Bay and reuinite her with my father**.
I'm raising money for basic needs so I can celebrate my son's college graduation in May 2018, visit my brother recovering from a stroke and his family, spend some time in my hometown, and also visit some seminaries as I am working to return to college to study theology to prepare to be a chaplain.
