I'm raising money for furniture so I can have company in my apartment.

Why I'm using HandUp for furniture.

I am using Hand Up because I am hoping I can get some help with furniture. I'd like to get a couch so my house can look more like a home and when I have my family over they will have somewhere to sit.

About me.

I am a 47 year old recovering addict. I have four young adult children who I love dearly. I also have 8 grandchildren, only 7 of which are living. I enjoy spending time with my family and having everyone in one house enjoying each other’s company, playing games, and having dinner together.

My backstory.

I started using drugs when I was 12 years old, which continued into adulthood. I struggled off and on for many years. Through my trials and tribulations I lost my children multiple times and became homeless. Each time I made it my priority to get my children back to me. The last time I got my children back I decided that was the last time and they stayed with me until they were young adults.

My goals, moving forward.

My goal is to continue to stay in recovery and get myself together so that I can transition out of the Travelers Aid program.
