Why I'm using HandUp for a security deposit.

I need assistance with a security deposit to participate in a housing assistance program. This program will help me to get back on my feet, but in order to move forward I need to save for a security deposit.

About me.

I was born and raised in Mississippi. I am 47 years old. I have worked in construction, cooking, and I also have worked with people with disabilities. Although I lived in Mississippi for a long time, I also lived in Pontiac, MI, and have lived in that area for many years.

My backstory.

I was with my significant other for five years before a really bad break up resulted in me having to nowhere to go. I became homeless and have struggled to find stable housing. I recently was approved for a program that will help me to get back on my feet, but to get in I need to enter into an apartment that will accept the program.

My goals, moving forward.

After finding my permanent place, I want to rebuild my savings and set up my finances to keep stable. I started to go back to school, but my housing crisis made it difficult to continue, so I'd like to reconnect to school and get my degree.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I would like to settle down one day and enjoy life to the fullest.
