About me.
I am a single mother to one son. After being housed by Travelers Aid and finally getting back on my feet, I was hit with a major setback. The apartment building I was staying in caught fire. We were only able to save a few items. I am currently trying to get back all that I lost.
My backstory.
I became homeless after being laid off from my job and eventually falling behind on my bills. In November of 2011 I lived at the Denby shelter on the Westside of Detroit.
My goals, moving forward.
My goal moving forward is to complete school. I’m taking classes at WCCCD in Sociology. I have 56 credits completed and I’m so proud of myself for that. One day I want to be a social worker and give back to my community.
