I'm raising money for sofa bed so I can rest and sit comfortably.

Why I'm using HandUp for sofa bed.

I'm using HandUP because it was recommended to me by my case manager. I've looked into other resources, but haven't found any that can assist me in purchasing a sofa bed.

About me.

I am from the City of Detroit born at Herman Keifer hospital. I have completed my bachelor's degree in criminal justice. My employment positions have been in security although I would like to work remotely due to my which is 63, and lack of transportation. I have lived in the city of Southfield since April 2024. I spend my time now going to functions at the library and job searching.

My backstory.

Domestic Violence; For three years, I endured abuse physically, emotionally, and verbally. I tried calling shelters but there were no beds available , or I would be told to leave a message. Thanks to Lighthouse, I am not homeless, and no longer couch surfing to get away from my abuser.

My goals, moving forward.

1. Employment; a remote position.
2. I would like to purchase a home. I want to be responsible for my environment, and not living in an apartment.
3. More exercise for my body and brain to be active in my senior years.
4. I would like to buy property to have a place to live and property to help pay for it.

Other things I'd like to share about myself.

I am happiest when I am able to be responsible adult. I am proudest of giving birth to my son who is now 31. I want to create more proud moments of myself being self sufficient.
